Fit to Be Tied
STORE OPENING
'Tis the season to splurge on a corset and behold, the perfect place
to get laced has arrived. Direct your mashed rib cage to the ever-expanding
Liberties Walk, where Psydde Delicious and Amy Schmitz have finally
opened their two-story Delicious Boutique. The effervescent Delicious
has been cinching waists around the world since 1995 but is more psyched
than ever to introduce his signature corsets to the fetishistic masses.
The ambitious corseteria, which does all of its manufacturing and custom
work on-site, names its corsets after the literary figures and authors
that inspired them (the Chatterly, the Cocteau). If you're fascinated
by the handmade fashions, get ready to suck it in for the opening bash
this Friday. Ringmaster Delicious wants customers to get their freak
on with what promises to be a wild romp at the carnival-themed boutique.
Custom fittings will take place alongside performances by the Hellcat
Girls burlesque troupe and the Sideshow Prophets. Also on the bill:
fire breather Rev. Hell, unicyclists and wine and munchies with punk
legend Mothra Stewart. It's an indoor/outdoor party, with Delicious
supplying the heat lamps. You know, for all you cold-blooded, corset-bound
types.
Delicious Boutique grand opening party, Fri., Dec. 2, 6-10 p.m., free,
Delicious Boutique, 1040 N. American St., Liberties Walk, 215-413-0375,
www.deliciouscorsets.com.
