On August 9th 2008, Delicious Boutique (on Liberties Walk- 1040 N. American St.) will host the art opening “Clowntastrophe”; new oil paintings by local artist Paul Palcko. The event will also include performances by Pavel the accordian player, the unpredictable antics of Mr. Clown, a pie throwing booth, special performance by the Ukes of Earl, and even a surprise musical number by the artist himself!

The “Clowntastrophe” collection consists of ridiculous oil paintings, that are thought provoking, but laughable. “Clowns make me laugh…but not always for the reasons they are supposed to be funny…” says Palcko.

Previous year's events, "Clowntastrophe 2007" and "Angry Clown Circus", were very successful. While the paintings were the main attraction, the atmosphere was set with the help of Pavel’s accordian music and the crowd was entertained and on guard with Mr. Clown’s performances and rhymes of wisdom about life, tricks and perception.

Delicious Boutique provides the perfect location for this event. The store decor is of circus influence, and one can purchase anything from high end Delicious Corsets (which are made on premises), to circus punks, or rock and roll tee shirts. Delicious Boutique will also be handing out wooden nickels at the door which will entitle guests to a 20% discount on store merchandise the night of the show, or 10% off later. Make sure you get your nickel!

...And after the event comes to it's sloppy close rest assured that the party is not over.... select Northern Liberties restaurants will be serving up food and drink specials from 10pm to midnight! Also, be sure to get your free pass to Fast Cheap & Out of Control's "Clowntastrophe Ballet" party the following evening so that carnival can continue through Sunday night!!

The concept of this art opening is not only to introduce these new oil paintings to the public, but to provide a comfortable atmosphere, where people can come, hang out, and be entertained for the entire event. Clown noses will be handed out at the door while supplies last!!
