Delicious Boutique specializes in edgy and unique mens and womens independent designer lines such as Skingraft Desings, Junker Designs, Jan Hilmer, Steam Trunk, Wild Card Leather, Five and Diamond, Heathen, Buddhaful, Stop Staring, Shawna Hofmann, and of course our own line of Delicious Corsets!
Our circus inspired boutique was designed by Philadelphia artist Mark Brodzik, and offers the perfect environment for shopping and for the many in-store events, art openings, and parties that we host on a regular basis. Additionally, in-shop custom corset fittings can be scheduled for consultations from our Delicious Corsets Team, and corset supplies order pickups can be arranged for orders placed on our CorsetMaking.com website.
History
Established in 1995
Delicious Corsets' first retail boutique, Delicious Boutique & Corseterie, opened on Liberties Walk, in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia, on November 14, 2005.
The boutique allowed a growth from just corsets to a large and varied selection of mens and womens clothing, jewelry, gifts, and accessories from independent designers throughout the country. We have sought out artists like ourselves who value unique design and top notch quality such as Skin Graft Designs, Junker, and Wild Card.
The hands-on Delicious boutique experience provides guests with the opportunity to try on many different styles and variations of corsets. At Delicious Boutique, knowledgeable sales people are available to help you learn about proper wear, lacing techniques, health issues, and care instructions for fine corsetry.
Delicious Corsets has designed and created hundreds of handmade corsets since the first Delicious Corset was created by McConnell and Delicious in December of 1995.
Meet the Business Owners!: Psydde and Amy
Delicious Corsets was founded by Psydde & Amy Delicious in 1995. Psydde is a graduate of Philadelphia University where he studied fashion and textile design. Amy, who also attended Philadelphia U, has been sewing and designing for over 25 years in both Philly and SF.
Psydde tends to be the traveling face of Delicious. His Delicious missionary work takes him regularly to Boston, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Vegas, Oklahoma City, Chicago, Denver, Tampa, Charlotte, NYC, and of course local events such as the 10+ year running Fast, Cheap & Out of Control weekly party at Fluid nightclub.
Amy's son Shane is growing like a weed, so when she's not slaving away at a sewing machine she is often chasing after him! She organized the very successful "Corsets For A Cure" fundraiser in February 2008 where approx. $4000 was raised for the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation. Amy has judged the NBC 10 show "Runway Challenge" and can often be found in the crowd of screaming fans for Philly band Black Landlord. |
