All
Delicious Corsets are designed and constructed to withstand the stresses
associated with tightlacing. Whether of not waist-training is your goal,
your custom Delicious Corset is made to hold up to the daily wear that
is part of that rigid lifestyle. With proper care your corset will last
you and serve you well.
Before
wearing: Treating your corset with Scotch Guard or some other fabric
protector is a wise precaution -- this may allow you to brush off some
small spills quickly and easily. Wearing a thin "under-corset"
garment between your body and your corset is another helpful idea. This
will help to protect your corset from excessve perspiration and body
oils, making dry-cleaning less frequently necessary.
Lacing
up: Start by loosening the back laces enough to easily wrap and
close the corset around you. Fasten the busk at center front first by
hooking shut the waist area, then by hooking closed the remaining clasps
above and below the waist. Start pulling the lacing snug from the top
first and then from the bottom, taking up the excess lace into the "lace
loops" at the waist of the corset. Keep in mind that your custom
corset is designed to reduce your waist and sculpt you above
and below. You do not want to drastically reduce your ribs or your hips
as this will cause discomfort and possible health problems. Take your
time and tighten evenly and accurately. Once you are snugly corseted,
tie off the "lace loops" at the waist in a normal shoestring
style knot. Give your body and your corset a little time to adjust before
trying to lace tighter... corseting takes time and patience.
After
wearing: Always loosen the lacing at the back of your corset before
trying to open the busk at center front. Failure to loosen enough before
opening will cause undue stress and could result in a broken busk!!
Take your time and unlace slowly... this act can be just as fun and
sensual as any other aspect of wearing your Delicious corset!! Having
a partner assist you, and control just how quickly you are allowed to
uncorset, can be quite erotic (...or so I'm told...) Unfasten the busk
in the same manner as which you fastened it, starting at the waist area
and unclasping the easier top and bottom clasps last. To prepare your
corset for it's next wearing, take a damp (NOT WET) cloth to the lining
and brush off any surface body oils or perspiration thay may have accumulated.
Air out your corset in a cool open space and admire it until it's time
to lace up again!
Cleaning:
Delicious Corsets are constructed with metal boning, safe to be dry
cleaned. We do not recommend cleaning with water as it may cause the
steel to rust! Depending on the type of fabric your corset is made from,
dry cleaning solutions such as Carbona or others, may work for small
stains. Be especially careful with satins or other fabrics that "water
mark" -- cleaning is always best left to the professionals!
